DGA has always focused on growing the sport of disc golf. From installing the very first disc golf course, too aiding the introduction of the sport into places where it was never heard of before; DGA has been there from the very first disc landing in the chains.
In 2003 after the death of ”Steady” Ed Headrick the father of disc golf and DGA’s founder, Team DGA was established with the goal of continuing the values that Ed found the most important in a person and in disc golf, Fun, Spirit, and Community. Team DGA members are not only representatives of DGA but are ambassadors to the sport Ed and DGA started. DGA team members are role models for the youth, help the sport grow and believe in the future of disc golf.
DGA has the honor of sponsoring a small tight-knit team of incredibly diverse players who love the sport of disc golf and who are proud ambassadors. Team DGA ranges from our Disc Golf Ambassador and Arm Farm Teams to our ProLine and Champion Team, home to Jon Baldwin the 2011 Pro Masters Disc Golf World Champion.
While they compete as individuals both locally and nationally our team has a family feel that we work hard to maintain as we grow and expand the team. Unlike many other sponsored teams, Team DGA, regularly practices, competes and travels together. Many of our team members are based out of our home community of Santa Cruz, CA. Many of them call the world famous DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course their home course.
While our team is based out of California you don‘t need to live on the West Coast to be a DGA Team member. We are always interested in talking to potential team members so if you feel like you possess the qualities above and you want to be a part of a true disc golf team please feel free to contact us.
Our ProLine Team is a collection of disc golfers that have demonstrated their ability to perform at a professional level. These golfers are representing DGA by throwing our complete line of DGA brand discs and sporting our ever-expanding apparel and accessory lines.
Our team members are ambassadors of the sport. They are teachers to our youth and feel a responsibility to help the sport of disc golf grow. They represent our Company’s long-standing reputation for being the original company in the sport and for spreading the love for disc golf to a new generation of players. They all believe in the future of disc golf, the vision and legacy of our founder “Steady” Ed Headrick, and our Team.
The goal of the First Flight team is to help young athletes on their journey towards competing at higher levels. The First Flight team is the stepping stone to learning how DGA’s team operates and to give an idea as to what they can look forward to with being on Team DGA.
First Flight Team members are asked to represent DGA at all times in a positive light on and off the course. We want them to develop a deep respect for the sport and continually try to improve the mental and physical aspects of their game. It is our hope and goal that all First Flight Team members graduate to our ProLine Team and eventually turn into professional disc golfers.
You can find members of the current DGA First Flight team listed below. If you know someone who is interested in becoming a First Flight member, please contact DGA directly.
“Steady” Ed was the first foot soldier of disc golf and would proudly spread his love for the game with anyone willing to listen, and a lot of times, with people who did not care to. He set the bar high for dedicated team members and now DGA has created a team to help carry Ed’s legacy on throughout future generations.
Through stewardship on and off the course, DGA Arm Farm members will be the voice of DGA for their individual regions. Online or on the green, Arm Farm members will be able to answer questions regarding DGA as needed. This new team will help to grow DGA’s brand and carry the message that Ed started long ago. Grow the sport, leave it better than you found it; and of course, most fun wins!
