Today, with heavy hearts, DGA announces that we will not be the title sponsor of the Masters Cup for 2017. With this we are making the difficult decision to remove the “Steady” Ed name from the tournament, which was graciously bestowed to the event by the forefathers and pioneers of the DeLaveaga Disc Golf Club many years back.
Though this decision was not made by us nor is it the outcome we had hoped for, we wish the best for the event and look forward to seeing how it continues to evolve.
DGA would like to thank the DeLaveaga Disc Golf Club, it’s officers, and all previous TD’s of the event for providing a canvas and infrastructure for running a world-class event on a world-class course, and also for providing DGA a platform for giving back to the sport we love. We have thoroughly enjoyed supporting our local disc golf community through building the Masters Cup to what it has become and we look forward to finding ways to continue to do so in the future.
We look forward to identifying opportunities to sponsor and support more events and working with clubs and communities that are interested in aligning with DGA, the company that started it all. We will continue to honor “Steady” Ed’s legacy and spread his vision of bringing joy and health through recreation and by supporting the growth of disc golf.
