Put in another 477 miles behind the wheel today, driving from Dodge City, KS to Albuquerque, NM, playing four new courses along the way. My favorite stop was at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK. A DGA client, and a client who is sporting nine beautiful 12×18 tee signs on their course (designed by Yours Truly).
I go out of my way to try and play at the courses where we have done tee signage. I think clients appreciate the extra effort of us checking out their courses in person…and it helps to build and reinforce a long-term relationship.
My favorite memory of the day? Taking a four on the 789 foot Hole 9 at OPSU. The wind was howling all day, making all four courses a challenge. But on that hole, I had two near perfect 325 foot drives, then put my 235-foot approach shot eight feet past the basket. A great feeling.
