The 2014 Faultline Charity Pro-Am took place this last weekend at DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course in sunny Santa Cruz, CA. Proceeds from the tournament this year are going to help Second Harvest Food Bank and Teen Challenge Monterey Bay.
145 total players showed up to raise money and enjoy some winter disc golf. The weather cooperated in an incredible way with the wind and rain making way for sun and fun. The torrential rains that have battered the West Coast took a two-day hiatus just for the Faultline to take place.
Just because it is winter does not mean that Team DGA is not busy at work winning tournaments. This past weekend Jon Baldwin defended his home turf with a win. JB played solid golf both days of the event to take home the coveted 1st Place Faultline Brick for Open Masters.
Shasta Criss also played some great golf and placed 3rd in the Open Mens division against some tough competition. Kristine King took her division by showing up and representing for women’s disc golf. All in all, the Faultline Classic was a great event and Team DGA took home some nice hardware during the rough 65 degree California Winter days.
Thanks to TD Jack Trageser, the DeLaveaga Disc Golf Club and all the volunteers who put on another great event!
The tournament’s history dates to the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989 that devastated the Bay Area and Santa Cruz. In the year after the earthquake, the disc golf club organized a tournament to raise money for victims of the quake.
