2007 Disc Golf World Championships Disc Golf Course Giveaway and Fundraiser Winner

The Disc

Limited Reserve Sparkle Squall

Limited Edition Sparkle Squall Midrange Disc. The main component of this fundraiser was the sale of a Limited Edition Sparkle Squall midrange disc.

A total of 1000 of these special run discs were produced with a custom 2007 Am Worlds logo and each disc purchased came with one raffle ticket and was added to a drawing.

The Prize

Blood Red Mach III Disc Pole Holes

Blood Red Disc Pole HolesMark Prue was the winner of this drawing and received an 18 hole Blood Red Mach III course produced specially for this raffle.

DGA rarely powder coats the Mach III Pole Holes and had never in this color.

And the lucky winner of the 18 Blood Red Mach III Disc Pole Holes is...........
MARK PRUE from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The drawing was an exciting event and the Flymart was a great place to hold the drawing. 11-Year-old Brock Dowell was very excited to have the honor of pulling the ticket for the lucky winner.

When Brock drew the number, we heard the cheering coming from the back of the room and Marcus Prue came charging through the crowd holding up his Sparkle Squall with the winning ticket still attached. His Squall had been purchased online weeks before the event and he just so happened to have it with him at the Flymart.

It worked out great to have him on site with the disc so DiscGolfTV could catch the reaction and look on his face. It is safe to say that Marcus was in a bit of shock.

We want to thank everyone who participated in this the inaugural fundraiser raffle.

Special thanks go to Terry “T-Dogg” Miller for helping devise the Disc Golf Course Giveaway & Worlds Fundraiser program. Thank you Stan “Tre” Pratt and Rob “WhatsHapnin” Hapner at SantaCruzDisc.com for there shared vision and support in getting these discs to everyone who ordered online. Big thanks go to Alan at DiscGolfTV for being on hand to catch the moment and for sharing it with the world.

2007 Am World Disc Golf Championships Blood Red Mach III - Update

Blood Red Mach III’s won by Mark Prue at the 2007 Am World Disc Golf Championships in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Groundbreaking for the course that will utilize the Blood Red Mach III’s won by Mark Prue at the 2007 Am World Championships in Milwaukee, Wisconsin started in late 2007.  The course, which will be named “Rolling Ridge” will be a private, championship level 18 hole disc golf experience.  Access to the course will be membership based.  Yearly memberships will be offered.  Those that are not members, but want to play the course can pay to play, but must be accompanied by a member.  Course amenities will feature a pro shop and full service bar.  The bar will be strategically located after finishing hole 9 and again after hole 18.

Currently, there are 13 of the 18 baskets in the ground.  Additional baskets are not being installed until their designated holes are 100% completed.  The property is owned by Mark’s business partner on the Rolling Ridge project.  They are diligently working on the course and hope to have all holes cut out by the end of the summer.  The course is described as mostly wooded and tight, but with well defined fairways.  There are a couple holes in the open.  The course name comes from the land’s rolling landscape that will make for some amazing golf.

Per Mark’s request, additional details and pictures of the course will not be made available until the course and facilities are completed.  The course, though private will be easily accessible from many communities, conveniently located equidistant from the cities of Appleton, Green Bay, and Manitowoc, all big disc golf communities.

As additional information becomes available, Mark assures us that he will make it available to us first.  Please check back for updates.  In the meantime, these couple of picture will have to suffice.

Just think, that could be you!  You could be the one planning and installing your own private championship disc golf course.  Sound like something you’d be interested in?
