The “Steady” Ed Memorial Masters Cup
Amateur Event: May 2 – 4 / Professional NT Event: May 16 – 18
We’re excited to announce the 29th annual “Steady” Ed Memorial Masters Cup, an event of historical significance for the sport of disc golf and the Santa Cruz region, taking place at the world famous DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course in the beautiful Santa Cruz Hills.
After 28 years, the “Steady” Ed Memorial Masters Cup is still regarded as one of the most challenging tournaments on the tour. Navigating DeLaveaga’s ruggedly beautiful terrain along the edges of steep ravines, tight forested fairways and sloped greens requires unrelenting focus and precision from tee box to green. Enduring 3 straight rounds at DeLaveaga is both physically, and mentally challenging. It requires a high level of skill, patience, and mental toughness to score well consistently. At any point in time, every player is just one bad kick or a roll-away from being “DeLa’d”. The separation between birdie and bogey is truly precarious.
The Masters Cup is fondly named in memory of “Steady” Ed Headrick, inventor of the modern day frisbee and founder of the sport of disc golf. In 1975, Steady Ed established the Disc Golf Association (DGA) in order to form a new international sport, and to promote the installation and use of disc golf courses around the world. We are proud to have them as the sponsor for our National Tour event.

With our tournament dates approaching, we need to complete our volunteer scheduling as quickly as possible. If you’ve never been to a tournament of this size, volunteering is like getting a free backstage pass to see the best players in the world!
