DGA Ambassadors are individuals who embody the spirit of the game, show great work ethic, and represent DGA at the events they are involved with.
While Team DGA Ambassadors all play competitive disc golf, their off-the-course resume has set them apart from other golfers. Whether it’s installing new courses, hosting disc golf events, or teaching the next generation of players, these individuals are all working tirelessly behind the scene to grow the sport we all love. We are excited to have them as part of the DGA family. We think “Steady” Ed would be proud that such great people have chosen to carry on his work, representing the company he started, and the sport he invented.
Meet the newest Team DGA Ambassador Kimbodia Knecht
Favorite DGA Disc: SP Rogue
Kim started playing disc golf in 2005 and has been an avid player and supporter of the sport ever since. Not only does Kim enjoy competing in tournaments, but she also enjoys directing them. Her latest passion had been getting more women involved in the sport of disc golf, and after seeing the effects of her last tournament that she directed, the 2012 Monarch Migration; I would say that she has succeeded in her goal.
Kim’s hometown is in Chico, CA but she currently resides in Sacramento and calls the Carmichael Disc Golf Course her home. When asked what her favorite courses were, she mentioned that The Redwood Curtain, Peregrine Point, Shady Oaks, College of the Redwoods, and Somerset Country Club were among her top five all time.
When asked what her advice would be for a player just starting out, Kim had this to say, “Go out and play often. It is important to play with people who know the rules and explain them to you as you develop into a tournament player.”
DGA is ecstatic to have Kim as part of the team and you can check out her team profile page by clicking here.
