The San Andreas fault zone separates the North American and Pacific tectonic plates, and is famous for the earthquakes it generates as these massive slabs of rock grind against one another. DeLaveaga DGC is 8 miles away from the San Andreas fault, while Pinto Lake DGC lies only 3 miles away from this massive geological scar.
