UPA Club Championships
Sarasota, FL - More than 10,000 athletes on over 600 teams from across North America entered the series in September. Those teams with enough strength and tenacity met in Sarasota to compete for the 2008 UPA Club Championships.

Vancouver, BC - Over 1600 athletes from 21 countries gathered in Vancouver, Canada to test their mettle August 2 - 9 at the fields of the University of British Columbia.

Hodags, Thunderbirds win 2008 UPA College Championships
Boulder, CO - Amid sunny skies and windy conditions, the Wisconsin Hodags outlasted Florida 15-9 to become the 2008 College Champions in a rematch of the 2006 finals. On the Women's side, University of British Columbia Thunderbirds showed their skill by defeating UC Santa Barbara 15-9 in an exciting final match. Congratulations to the 2008 champions!

Around The Tour: Nov 17
Carlo Pelg of San Diego is the 2008 So Cal disc golf Champion. He was a one-throw winner in La Mirada, where he needed a respirator to filter out thick smoke and ash from nearby wildfires. Kris Orrick of TN went south to take 2nd in AL, Kirk Yoo was 4th in NC, and Nate Krahn and Nick Schneider were 7th and 8th at the Sececa Creek Soiree in MD.
Even though there was an event in his hometown of Emporia KS, Eric McCabe gave the local players a chance to win for a change when he chose to compete at the HOTT finals in TX. His victory there added to a Team Discraft sweep by Miles Seaborn (2nd) and Matt Hall (3rd). BTW, E-Mac's teammates Adam Olsen and Ron Convers picked up the slack in Emporia, where each was a winner in the two one-day events there and once again taking trophies away from the local players.
Mike Randolph: Disc Golf and Ultimate Superstar
Sarasota, FL - Once again proving to be a unique talent, Mike Randolph is headed to the UPA Club Championships in Florida later this month as a part of Colorado's Double Black team. His appearance at this Ultimate championship event makes him the only player to ever compete at the highest levels of both disc golf and Ultimate. Go get 'em Mikey!
Koling Wins Am Worlds
Kalamazoo, MI - North Carolina's Jeremy Koling went into the 2008 Amateur Worlds with one goal: to be Champion. After battling strong competition all week, Koling pulled away from the pack to seal the deal with a 12-throw victory. Congrats and welcome to the pro ranks!
Ginnelly Is Inducted Into Disc Golf Hall of Fame
Battle Creek, MI - Team Discraft Co-Captain Dan Ginnelly of Scottsdale AZ was honored during the World Championships when he was officially inducted into the Disc Golf Hall of Fame. As the first fulltime touring disc golfer, Ginnelly joins the elite group thanks to his many years as a player, TD, promoter and sportsman. Way to go, Dano!

Texas is a big state, and is producing some superb disc golf talent. Take for example 23-year-old Miles Seaborn from the Ft. Worth area. He's got a big arm and a growing rating that recently popped over 1000 for the first time!

Congratulations to National Champion Nate Doss
Rock Hill, SC - Two-time disc golf World Champion Nate Doss of California has added the United States national trophy to his mantle after a four-throw victory at the USDGC. Doss made only five bogeys through four rounds, and was bogey free in round two when he tied the Winthrop Gold course record with a 13-under-par 55. Well done Champ!
