The Kiwanis Kourse at Montgomery Hall Park

Virginia's fourth-best rated disc golf course is open to the public free of charge.  Kiwanis Kourse Disc Golf is a beautiful, challenging recreational level course.  The recreational tees (red) measure approximately 5,250 feet and the advanced tees (white) measure 5,856 feet.  A new set of blue pro tees are being installed during the summer of 2007.  The Blue Tees will measure approximately 8,000 feet.  The course includes six wooded holes and a variety of uphill, downhill, and dogleg holes.  There are a variety of obstructions in the flight paths, but there are wide open shots to each basket.  On a scale of 0-100, with 100 being the most difficult, the Kiwanis Kourse at Montgomery Hall Park is about a 70.  The course takes about 90 minutes to play 18 holes, and provides an easy to moderate walking workout.  Signature holes include #6, a 203 foot shot off a cliff to a basket surrounded by menacing raspberry bushes (a hole in one opportunity if you dare!); and #1, a 434 foot monster.

Montgomery Hall Park is a beautiful, uncrowded, full service park.  Montgomery Hall has wooded and open picnic shelters, picnic tables, and grills.  The park has basketball and tennis courts, baseball softball and soccer fields, a toddler playground, and swimming pool ($1.50 per person to swim).  A trip to Kiwanis Kourse Disc Golf at Montgomery Hall Park is a great way for the family to spend an entire afternoon.   Scorecards and course maps are available at the first tee, which is located under a banner at the south side of the tennis courts.
