Re:What discs do u have in your bag? - 2005/08/27 20:41 I throw right handed sidearm 300+ feet
my main disc is a Champ Valkyrie @ 171g (very predicable and flies far)
Second fave is a Champ Banshee @ 173g (more consistent Rt fade, good distance)
When it absolutely has to turn right.. Champ Monster @171g
When i'm looking for left turn or big S curve.. Champ Valkyrie @ 161g (also my farthest flying open field and downwind disc)
extreme left turn.. Millenium CE-JLS test run of 2000(found in a pond)
just got a Champ Firebird @ 170g
Pro line Orc @ 168g (use very little)
main mid-range is a Champ Panther @ 157g (for approaches less then 80' flies super straight and stops where it hits the ground, for longer sidearm shots up to 180' has good predictable left turn)
also have a DX Spider @ 147g (goes where I throw it)
I putt with an Omega Supersoft @160g (downwind or less than 15mph cross/headwinds)
in heavy cross/headwinds.. DX Bulldog@ 171g
just got a "The Blunt Gumputt" by DGA @175g(haven't thown it yet)

Re:What discs do u have in your bag? - 2005/08/30 03:08 Well, after reading what's in everyone else's bags, I feel a little less obsessed....

167g Champion Valkyrie
169g Starfire
175g Champion Orc
1689 X Xpress
174g Z XS

178g KC Pro Roc
180g DX Roc
180g CE Roc (DX Roc w/ big stamp)

174g Champion Aviar (x2)

...started about a year ago with a Shark (lost), Aviar DX (gave away), X Xpress and Z XS... this year I really fell for the Innova stuff as it just seems easier to throw, not to mention most of them were given to me by a local pro... Thanks again for the CE Roc Steve

...for the record, the whole bag could vanish overnight, as long as I have my Rocs

you must be pretty strong to get anything out of a spirit, ive only thrown one a couple times, and couldnt get it to go over 225' (it was a 174) even though i tend to throw fairly overstable plastic orcs, firebirds crushes and such, but that was one disc i never found a use for

What type of plastic was the Spirit you were throwing? My S Spirit is pretty beat up and I can only get about 300' out of it if you include the skip (which is probably 30' forward). It's pretty much the same as my new, 176g E Speed Demon. When I first threw it I would get the same distances you describe.

My brand new E Spirits are much less overstable than my beat up S. Even then, I use a sort of beat E Spirit when I need something that has to go straght for a little bit. Also, you have to throw them very nose down and much lower than most other discs. If you get too much height or not enough nose down they'll stall out really early and fade super hard. Lately I've been getting my sort of beat 170g E Spirit out as far as my other long range drivers (350'-380' maybe), but that's thrown low, very nose down, very hard and anhyzer. It ends up about 30 degrees to the left of the line I threw on, too. Into the wind I sometimes even throw with a little hyzer and get the same distances as I do in no wind or a tailwind.

It's a difficult disc to learn, but I think it's worth it.

It was a 174 out of the S plastic, brand new, definately way overstable.
