Discraft Z Glide - 2005/05/11 18:59 I was recently taking a nice swim in the dark disgusting pond water at my local course (managed to throw my prized dx Roc in the pond, i have no money to buy a new disc) Well long story short i stumbled upon quite a few discs before i found my roc, most of them were claimed no name and the last with a name is being returned this evening. Among the found discs i found a Discraft Z Glide. I had trouble finding info on this disc and decided its fairly new. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this disc. From the few practice throws i was able to get out of it weather permitting, i decided its similar to a rock, yet with more glide and its very slightly understable. I hope to be able to use it mostly off the tee where my roc will not quite make it (anwhere from 280-350'). Well id like to hear what people have to say, i have no experience with the elite z plastic (im genaraly a innova guy). Thanks

Re:Discraft Z Glide - 2005/05/11 20:13 All I know about it is that it's the disc that was used for Discraft's 2004 Ace Race tournaments. At the time it would have been a prototype but I think they went into regular production so yes, it is a pretty new disc.

Elite Z plastic is Discraft's version of Innova Champion plastic. It's the most expensive and most durable plastic they sell.

Re:Discraft Z Glide - 2005/05/18 18:15 I just bought a Glide about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I'm still a fairly new player, so I may not be able to add too much info. But so far the Glide is my favorite mid range disc. It is a slightly understable flyer, a -0.5 according to Discrafts rating system. I've seen it rated on some different sites using the "Innova" system of Speed, Glide, Turn & Fade as 6, 5, -1 & 0 and also 4, 9, -1 & 1 respectively. I can definately say that they don't call it the Glide for nothing as shown in the second rating. The disc did make its first appearance at this years Ace Race and it is aparently a straighter flying variation on the DGA Squall mold (also made by Discraft). I hope this helps some.

Re:Discraft Z Glide - 2005/07/26 03:55 I just pick one of these up. I have to say that I was much more impressed by it than I was expecting. Its a straight flying disc, and I would say that it was mis-classified as a mid-range driver. I would call it a long range driver. I certainly cannot throw it as far as my BEAST, but I can heave it a long way.

What I like most about the disc is that it flies straight! I think that will some practice and time, this disc will find a permanent place in my bag.
