New DG Association - 2005/03/15 20:48 The PDGA is making very bad decisions in taking a non anonymous stance for there discussion board. This will probably bring more traffic this way. How do you guys feel about the changes and what opinions do you have? Alot of what I read is that alot of members have not renewed this year and in the past. I think it is time for another organization to step up and take on the PDGA from another active association stance that could compete head to head with the PDGA. I am working to build such a group. Any comments? I know this will light up the boards so cmon.

Ahh yes, March of 05, this is when the intentional descrimination provoked me to form a new idea that has changed quite a bit from March to October 05. Had to come in here and add to this post as people are using this as an example that UDG is actually trying to take over the PDGA. Sorry but we just have an idea and are running with it. I dont think the evolution of a group should be based on the input of one persons opinion. We are doing great things and the fact is my above opinion conveys only that I was wanting to build an org as big as the PDGA and push discgolf as they do, not take them over. Thats funny Garublador!

Re:New DG Association - 2005/08/03 21:31 Oh, yeah, really lit up those boards. Actually, the PDGA will once again break its membership records and is heading toward about a 15 percent growth in paid memberships in 2005 over 2004.

We are in fact moving toward requiring posters on DISCussion to be identifiable as the anonymity seems - much as like happens in traffic - to breed a fairly intense discourtesy of some posters towards others.

P.S. No need to compete head to head with the PDGA. I'm sure that (a) a quality new organization would be a good partner and (b) that most people who have 'issues' can run for an office or ask for a volunteer position and make change happen within the PDGA.

Re:New DG Association - 2005/08/08 20:26 May not have really lit up the board, but that's because post that become confrentational or question the PDGA BOD get erased ie. Sportscenter 50/50 thread.

I will not blindly join an alternative organization unless I can see how it will be a benefit to me and my DG communitiy. If it can do that however count me in.

Re:New DG Association - 2005/08/08 20:50 I wish that thread did not have to go, but it degenerated into people making assertions about "[someone] slurping [someone else's] tool"
