Re: Formality - 2004/05/03 21:05 I don't even stand for it!!
Like one dumb ass, he threw his drive as the four of us walked down to # 4. He didn't say FOUR!!! He figuered he'd just play threw.
Well lucky for him, regardless of his size. He missed 5 ft
over our heads. I picked up his disc... And whaled it as far as I could. It turned out to be a roller. So needless to say I haven't seen the fag there since. You throw it with out the proper edicate and you'll be chasin it.

Re: Formality - 2004/05/24 10:12 Although I agree with Dan that proper gameplay should be enforced I strongly disagree with the ape-like behavior he wrote about. Also please refrain from the use of hate words in your future postings.

During an informal game there is no reason to yell at someone for simply speaking while another player is teeing off.

Of course safety is another issue all together.

The bottom line is that everyone is out there to have fun, and if a newbie makes a mistake then the veterans should help lead them in the right direction. This helps bring new players to the sport. Let's try to remember that we are playing disc golf (not ball golf) and not let formality get in the way of a good time.

Re: Formality - 2004/05/24 11:36 My two biggest problems are people driving on you before you're done and, as Dan mentioned, people not yelling FORE. I caught a disc in the face once from some jackass not yelling fore. Lucky for me, I had on sunglasses, otherwise I probably would have lost an eye. If someone throws anywhere near me or my friends now, if they don't yell fore, we holler fore back at them and then bitch at them when they come and pick up their disc.

WhyTF are people so scared to yell fore???

Re: Formality - 2004/07/21 10:45 Lars I like your rules, but whn we play just for fun its a little more lenient.
Usually talking is fine as long as it isn't loud. After all most of us are out there just to bullshit anyway.
We play at a fast enough pace so that nobody will ever get pissed off.
If a friend loses a disc you look for it, unless conditions dont allow.
Hey anybody ever pick up one of your discs, that pisses me off.

Re: Formality - 2004/08/08 19:27 Great post Will. I am thinking that you have the correct attitude on all your suggestions.

Safety is of prime importance. All that any course needs is a law suit due to some medical issue. I saw a 10 year old girl get a mouthful of disc at Sonoma state during a tournament. She was spitting out teeth. It was clearly an accident, but a painful one.

If everyone chills, everyone wins.

Re: Formality - 2004/08/18 10:56 wow, i havent had any problems with the players but the park bystanders are a pain where i play. some woman (40+ years) picked up my disc and put it in the basket on her bike and then started to ride off. after yelling and running after her she stated that she was only picking it up. yea right.

i dont mind if some kid picks up my disc but an adult? geez
