I think it always better for someone starting out to get more what we call understable disc. It's hard for beginners to handle a real overstable disc( in most cases, some are just blessed) surely I wasn't though...What I see the most is that the more advanced you get the more overstable a disc you will want. I say...shark, stingray for mid range...and teebird and cheetah for you drivers starting out...putter is all up to you..I use an APX right now but I started out using a birdie and then an aviar...It's all up to you though...stick with whatever one you choose though when it feels right...buy extras if you can too for practice. Most pros will have 10 or more of their fav putter just for practice.
