It was a spectacular weekend for disc golf at the 2013 Masters Cup Am event! With perfect weather, a dedicated staff, and a full field of eager golfers, the stage was set for an awesome tournament. There was some great golf played on each day, with rounds that were rated unofficially well up into the thousands.
The highlight of the weekend though was DGA’s Arm Farm Team Captain Peter McBride’s outstanding caliber of play. Each day Pete shot under par and held the lead for all 3 days of the event. Pete was greeted by a gallery of friends and family after completing hole 27 on Sunday afternoon, and was all smiles as he accepted congratulatory cheers from everyone in the crowd. The event was concluded with the huge raffle and awards ceremony Sunday evening where Pete was awarded with the first place trophy and a custom Mach III Portable basket. Needless to say, it was a great tournament with great times had by all.
The Am event was a great kick off for the Masters Cup Pro weekend that is happening on April 26th – 28th. A big thanks to the tournament director TJ Goodwin for a hell of a job putting on this magnificent event, as well as all the sponsors, volunteers, spectators, and players. Ed was definitely looking down on all of us this past weekend with a big smile on his face due to all of the hard work and dedication put into this tournament by everyone involved. So thanks again to everyone who was out there and DGA looks forward to seeing everyone again during the pro event in two weeks!
